TO TEACH THE MASSES A LOVE FOR BEACH CHOPIN, AND BEETHOVEN (Analysis by Ehron James N. Andong)

(1)The Government then is very brutal, the man in uniform and the people of the Philippines are fighting. President Marcos declared Martial Law because of the communist threats. According to page 25 the activist was laying down on a bridge to block traffic by that I can say that the government that time was not good and full of chaos and not meeting the expectations of the people.

The Government nowadays is prioritizing the people of the Philippines. And based on what I can observed, the Government now keeps many secrets, they are not exposing the problems that the government is facing. Though we can received something from their program, but we are aware that some of them is not giving it all, some of them are corrupt and keep the money for their own pleasure.

(Similarities)
The similarities of the government then and now is, they still serving the Filipino people. And the government before and now still have trouble and problems when it comes to money and power.

(2) Therese R. Rodriguez is a strong and independent woman, because she joined a lot of organization just to fight against the government. She is a brilliant woman because, based on page 23 she became a CEO of the Asian and Pacific Islander Coalition on HIV/AIDS (APICHA) Community Health Center. According to page 25, paragraph 5, she felt guilty leaving the Philippines. So by this we can really see her love for the people of the Philippines, and love for fighting for their rights.

(3)My reaction on the essay of Therese R. Rodriguez. First I am impressed on how did she write the essay. On this essay we can gain a lot of knowledge about the past on how did the Filipino people faced the challenges against the government. While reading this I felt sad for the Filipino people being harassed by the man in uniform, because according to page 24, paragraph 2, when president Marcos was to deliver his state of the nation address. It resulted in a police riot, with cops brutally attacking students with trancheons and tear gas. And while reading the page 24 paragraph 1, I was amazed how they describe the three evils of Philippines society which is the feudalism, imperialism, and fascism. Which few on top were ruling over the many.
